Engineered cylinders for
enhanced insulation performance
Manufactured from high-density Transformerboard T4, Weidmann’s Transformerboard cylinders are stable, mechanically strong, electrically reliable, and can also serve to divide larger oil gaps into several, smaller oil gaps using the barrier technique.
This method substantially increases dielectric strength at given clearances. Thanks to our cylinders’ strong mechanical characteristics and outstanding electrical properties, a compact construction of closely arranged barriers can be assembled. Transformerboard cylinders can be delivered in different states of fabrication, and features such as cutouts, notches, and step-downs can be made on all our listed cylinder options.

Oil-stabilized Glued Cylinders
Power Transformer Cylinders can be scarfed and pre-rolled at Weidmann, but are shipped unglued to allow customers to size and glue on the mandrel for coil winding. These cylinders can also be shipped as glued and sized coil winding.
Rolled Open Cylinders are glued on the winding mandrel.
Oil-stabilized Glued Cylinders prevent moisture ingress for accurate sizing.
