Edge Protection Rings

An edge protection ring is a special variant of an angle ring or cap, used as edge protection in the winding of power transformers. For high-temperature applications, Weidmann produces edge protection rings from heat-resistant, non-cellulose Nomex®.

Weidmann offers Nomex® high-temperature edge protection rings and other components under an agreement with DuPont™. Nomex® is a synthetic aromatic polyamide polymer that provides high levels of electrical, chemical and mechanical integrity. Our high-temperature edge protection rings are made of Nomex® 993.
