Angle Rings and Caps
Comprehensive solutions
for transformer end insulation
Angle rings and caps play a critical role in the end insulation design of transformers. Weidmann offers a broad range of these components in all voltage classes and dimensions, ensuring compatibility with virtually any transformer design.
Our portfolio includes both cost-effective and high-performance solutions, tailored to meet the specific requirements of each application.
Weidmann’s offering includes machine- and hand-moulded angle rings and caps, pressed sectors, drawn caps and angle rings, flexible crepe paper angle rings for distribution transformers, and laminated crepe paper rings.

Drawn Angle Rings
Drawn angle rings and caps are produced for small transformers, as well as for various specific insulation purposes, such as protection for metal nuts. They are manufactured in a specific mold for each dimension and are most appropriate in large production quantities as a standardized product for a certain dimension.
Hand-molded Sectors
Hand-molded sectors are designed for small radii tolerance requirements, for example up to 60 mm.
Hand-molded Angle Rings and Caps
Hand-molded angle rings and caps are produced with specific molds, allowing an unlimited range of dimensions. Hand-molded angle rings are fabricated from wet sheet material. They can be combined with snouts for high-voltage lead exits.
Pressed Angle Ring and Cap Sectors
Pressed angle ring and cap sectors are fabricated semi-automatically from wet sheet material. This product covers larger diameters, and, due to the specific properties of the material and the molds, a wide range of edge radii can be offered. Pressed sectors are offered in a range of dimensions suitable for large power transformers and delivered with radii up to 40 mm.
