About Nomex® Spacing Elements

Weidmann produces a wide range of spacing elements manufactured from Nomex®, a non-cellulose material ideal for use in prolonged high operating temperatures.

Our high temperature spacing elements are used to separate the high voltage from the low voltage winding, as well as within the winding where they form cooling channels.

Different equipment requires different characteristics, which is why we supply a variety of high temperature spacing elements including clackband, corrugated paper, duct strip, ladders and strips.

Clackband is made of small Nomex® 994 strips individually welded to a carrier material of Nomex® 410 or E56 paper.

Duct Strip is made by welding Nomex® 994 strips in a regular distance to Nomex® 410 or E56 paper, usually the same width as the strips.

Ladders are made by welding Nomex® 994 strips in a regular distance to two or more supporting Nomex® 410 or E56 paper tapes.
Strips are made of Nomex® 994 and are produced in rectangular, bevel key, or T-form shapes.

Spacers made of Nomex® 994 are either milled or punched, depending on the application and the thickness required.
