About High Temperature Nomex® Paper

Nomex® based paper provides the highest levels of electrical, chemical, and mechanical integrity, specifically under high temperatures.

Manufactured by DuPont™, Nomex® is a synthetic aromatic polyamide polymer that provides long-term resistance to high temperatures, extending the life of electrical equipment, reducing premature failures, and acting as a safeguard in unforeseen electrical stress situations.

Weidmann is a distributor for Nomex®. We glue, weld, slit, punch and cuff Nomex® Aramid paper insulation into components directly for customers.

Plain Nomex® Paper is available in high, medium and low density. Weidmann supplies it either plain or in various converted paper and part forms.

Nomex® 410 Calendered is the high density, calendered grade that offers high dielectric strength, mechanical strength, flexibility and resilience.

Nomex® 410 Diamond Dotted is used as layer insulation and to increase the short circuit strength of transformer coils.

Nomex® insulating crepe paper offers high elasticity and conformability, making it ideal for lead wrapping and continuous transposed cable applications.

DuPont™ Nomex® 410 is a high-strength, flexible insulation paper used in electrical applications, available in 0.05 – 0.76 mm (2 – 30 mil).

Nomex® 356 is the medium density grade designed for cost-critical applications that require moderate mechanical and electrical strength.

Nomex® 411 is a lower density grade, ranging from 0.13 – 0.58 mm (5 – 23 mil), used in applications such as motor phase insulation and transformer coil end filler, where high bulk and conformability are most important.
